Now the weather has turned and it's getting dark so much earlier you might be feeling a little despondent. We have Christmas to look forwards to but that's not for ages yet. Summer and the warm weather seem like a million years ago. The obvious solution is to take a mini break. With short plane tickets going so cheaply these days and so many amazing destinations just a few short hours away it's so easy. If a trip to another country isn't feasible you could consider exploring a new part of your own country.
Indulging in a mini break for the weekend could be just what you need to get some peace and quiet. After all there's so much to see and do all in your own country there's bound to be something that takes your interest. If you want to keep the creature comforts of your home whilst you're away from home renting a holiday cottage would be the ideal solution. It's not hard to find a holiday cottage for rent, just try asking around your friends and family and you're bound to find a little cottage tucked away somewhere that you could rent. You'll often find this is cheaper than booking a hotel room for the weekend too.
Make sure you confirm all the basics with the owner of the holiday home and run through a check list with them. Always check the property proprietor has holiday cottage insurance. This is something entirely different from your household insurance. Holiday home insurance means that both the building and contents are covered as well as any guests or tenants. The same still applies if you do leave the country, you need to make sure the property has overseas property insurance.
All you need to do now is make sure you're able to relax and enjoy your break. The point is to relax so try to leave the laptop at home and the mobile turned off. A break away should be truly relaxing and you can't do this is you're still tied to your everyday life.
